Free Android App To View IP Camera Remotely
I have written before about using network ip cameras like the TrendNet to monitor our home using my Android smartphone.
(I can also use a web browser from any PC)
Monitoring the Axis and TrendNet IP cameras remotely is easy on any Android device using a free app called tinyCam Monitor.
This particular app works only on Android devices but I am sure something else is available for Apple products.
tinyCam has a pro version also, which I bought simply to support the author, I didn’t need it. But it’s on sale for Christmas at 50% off, bringing it down to only $1.99.
Configuring The TrendNet TV-IP572PI
With TinyCam, I could, but have not, contacted the author to directly support the cameras I have.
With the Axis network cameras I simply select Axis as the manufacturer and “Generic” for the model and it works.
For the TrendNet TV-IP572PI cameras I have, I simply select TrendNet as the camera vendor and TV-IP512P as the camera model.
The tinyCam app gives you lots of functionality, some on the paid app only, but you can record to your smartphone, even take advantage of pan-tilt-zoom (ptz) cameras.
The ability to check on our home most any time from anywhere gives real peace of mind.
