Apple To Offer Flat Screen TV By Christmas 2012

At least one writer is predicting that Apple will offer a Flat Screen HTTV (“Flat Panel”, really) by Christmas 2012 and compete with cable and satellite providers.

Probably so.

But I predict that even to turn the stupid thing on and watch a Free local TV news broadcast you will first have to have an iTunes account.

I can’t argue with the success of Apple products or the $400 price tag for a share of their stock or Steve Jobs wealth or genius; but iTunes sucks. Registering computers to your iTunes account sucks. Being limited to how many devices you can register to your iTunes account sucks. Bonjour running on your network sucks.

Yes, Microsoft sucks, but just to be clear, a lot of things about Apple sucks too, including their prices. My kids leave their 6 month old MacBook running and just close the lid because apparently bad things happen if you turn it off and back on. And all of the flash video that’s available online? Don’t try to watch it on your $700 iPad, won’t work.

Sorry, today is a rant day.
