Protect Your Child Or Yourself With Armored Backpack
This BulletProof Backpack may be a sad commentary on our nation, but it could be a life saver.
I know it’s expensive, but if I had a child attending public school it would certainly be something my wife and I would talk over.
It’s not like the entire backpack is constructed of kevlar, but it does have a NIJ IIIA bulletproof panel which will stop or seriously degrade the power of most bullets that you might encounter, though oddly enough probably would not completely stop a .223 as was recently used in the school shooting.
But combine that with a laptop inside and I’m guessing it could, but for sure reduce the power of it.
Stopping Bullets With Technology
I have spent a fair number of rounds of ammunition shooting up monitors, computers and hard drives. (We always put a few rounds through even a defective hard drive before throwing it out).
What I can tell you is that some of the older IDE hard drives would regularly stop a .45ACP round (.45 has stopping power, not drilling or punch through power like a 9mm).
So even if you DON’T invest in the bulletproof backpack for your child (or yourself), don’t be hesitant to use a laptop to shield yourself from a shooter, and certainly be willing to put a nice hearty Dell server between you and danger because not a lot will penetrate it without concerted effort.
I am not one to spread fear, but I did find this product unique enough to just bring your attention to it if you had not already heard of the bulletproof backpacks or other body armor material items being sold for parents to buy for their school age children.
Actually, if enough people would buy defensive items like bulletproof backpacks and briefcases I highly suspect the cost would come down a lot.
