New Study Says Macs Aren’t Perfect
I came across the link to this video post at MacMost by a gal at another forum who was looking into computer backup after a hard drive crash and losing all her photos. Another added to my list.
(Yes, my headline and sub are “tongue in cheek” comments)
At some point don’t you get concerned about that data on your computer?
Do folks think it can’t happen to them?
Are Mac’s perfect?
Gary, in this video, points out that a Mac will have the very same make and model hard drive as a Windows PC or even that cable box in your home. It can fail in whatever device it’s in, Macs not immune.
The gal mentioned above ended up buying a Western Digital My Passport for Mac 500 GB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive – WDBL1D5000ABK-NESN for backing up her Mac.
That is an excellent choice, though you are paying more for the compactness factor over a drive like the Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex I just reviewed. But since I know she travels that is probably why she opted for the smaller 500GB unit.
Anyway, nice to have Gary at MacMost on my side!
