Save Money Buying MP3 Albums
Somehow I feel like a green little gecko telling you how to save 15% buying MP3 albums at Amazon.com. Just can’t get his voice out of my head, must be the “15 Percent”.
Anyway, I thought I would share how I saved money on an MP3 album that I bought at Amazon.com and still fed by “old geezer” gene by getting the physical CD to go with it AND an EXTRA $1 off future purchases.
Everyone seems to be moving toward the cloud for storage of music, and that’s fine. But I caution you for who you trust how much with music you have paid for. That’s why I don’t mind storing a CD; it also (pretty much) proves that I own that music.
Amazon and Apple seem infallible today, but I could make a long list of companies no longer around or nothing but a shell of their former selves – Remember Kodak? Polaroid?
Even the almighty Google has lost people’s data in free accounts…
Why Not Get It All For Less?

- MP3 album only, digital format, in Amazon’s cloud and optionally download to your PC – Cost: $9.49 (plus tax where applicable)
- MP3 album, in Amazon’s cloud, download MP3’s to your PC (256k in this case), physical CD, rip MP3’s at 320k if you prefer AND get a $1.00 future credit for Amazon MP3 purchases – Cost: $7.99
Like the eye doctor says: “Which is better, 1…or…2”?
I’ll take the 2nd option every time, thank you very much. And it’s so easy to do whenever the chance presents itself.

The simple trick, shown on the video below, is simply to find the MP3 album you are interested in, then click the “also available on CD format” link and find out if you can’t get the whole sheebang for the same or less.
